Nigel Jamieson, the award-winning creator of Honour Bound teams up with the STC Actors Company and a massed cast of forty for an epic and explosive exploration of one of the myths at the centre of the modern Australian psyche.

Each year we pledge to remember them, but is this an active, clear-eyed remembrance or a passive, sentimental version in convenient soft-focus? What can a thorough engagement with remembrance tell us now? What light does it shed on our current military situation?

Drawn from a myriad of research and resources including letters, diaries, contemporary reportage, film footage and official documents – and layered with projection, drama, music and song – Australia’s military baptism by fire, will be examined from both combatants’ sides.

Nigel Jamieson will unleash his extraordinary vision to create a heart-wrenching, multi-dimensional portrait of a seminal moment in our history.
